 Backed by the full resources of Children's Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and UMDNJ – New Jersey Medical School, The Children's Heart Center provides comprehensive treatment for children with heart problems, adults with congenital heart disease, and for expectant mothers whose fetus may have a heart problem. The congenital cardiology team consists of nationally and internationally respected pediatric cardiologists and cardiothoracic surgeons, as well as experienced cardiac intensivists, cardiothoracic anesthesiologists, clinical nurse specialists, social workers, nutritionists and child life specialists.
Our mission to improve the quality of life for children across the region is achieved through participation in clinical research and the development of innovative procedures that can minimize the need for surgery and reduce the length of hospitalization. Reaching out to children around the globe, The Children's Heart Center also participates in charitable international programs that provide cardiac care to children who might otherwise never receive definitive cardiac treatment.
