Welcome to SBHCS Med Education Programs

PresidentThe Medical Education programs within the Saint Barnabas Health Care System include:

  • Undergraduate Medical Education
  • Graduate Medical Education
  • Continuing Medical Education
  • Allied Health Professions Education

Graduate Medical Education programs are sponsored by the four teaching institutions affiliated with the System:

The System hosts medical students from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey/New Jersey Medical School in Newark, NJ , and Drexel University College of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA, for junior year clerkship and senior year electives. The System is a major clinical campus for New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in Old Westbury, New York, and is affiliated with the St. George's University School of Medicine, in Grenada, for junior and senior clerkships.

Residencies and fellowhips in a wide variety of specialties and subspecialties are offered. Clinical research and public health issues are an integral part of our education mission.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) activities are conducted throughout the System, with our hospitals accredited by the Medical Society of New Jersey to offer CME to the physicians in the community.

A number of physician-assistant, technician and other allied health professions students obtain clinical experience within the System.

Highest quality medical education is felt to result in highest quality patient care and ultimately delivers to our patients the most current, cost-effective, and integrated medical care possible.
