MS Comprehensive Care Center Services

Following a thorough, initial evaluation by an expert MS physician, a comprehensive treatment plan is developed for each patient. In addition, each patient meets with a specialized nurse or other staff member who can help make further arrangements for services.

Rehabilitation Therapies and Services:
Physical, Occupational (Cognitive and Vocational), Speech, Swallowing, Orthotics, Wheelchair Evaluation

Health and Wellness:
Monitored, Individualized Exercise Program with Exercise Physiologists, Yoga

Psychological and Social Work Services:
Support Groups, Counseling, Stress Management

Interventional/Pharmacological Pain Management:
Anesthetic and Steroid Injections, Nerve Block, Spinal Cord Stimulation, Comprehensive Pain Management and Medication Delivery System to help alleviate pain and spasticity

Integrative Therapies:
Acupuncture, Therapeutic Massage, Hypnotherapy, Guided Imagery, Nutritional and Herbal Counseling

Infusion/Injection Therapies:
Immunomodulators, Immunosuppressants, Chemotherapy, Monoclonal Antibodies, Gamma Globulin, Intrathecal Baclofen, Patient Education

State-of-the-Art Imaging/Neuro-Imaging Services:
CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine including PET/CT Scan, X-ray, MRI (including the 3.0T short bore MRI which produces the highest quality images in a clinical setting)

Osteoporosis and Metabolic Bone Disease Center:
Bone Density Scan, Osteoporosis Treatment, Patient Education

Speech and Hearing Center:
Speech Evaluations, Speech Therapy (including Motor Therapy), Dysphagia Evaluations, Swallowing Therapy (including Vitalstim® treatment for Dysphagia), Group Therapy to Reinforce Speech Skills and as a Source of Support

A variety of additional medical specialty services are available through the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, including orthopedics, physical medicine, urology, sexual dysfunction and neuropsychology and psychiatry. Patients are encouraged to discuss their individual needs with their primary physicians.
