The Continuing Care Centers of Belleville and Kearny The Belleville Center is a 179-bed, long-term care facility, offering private and semi-private accommodations. Rehabilitative as well as skilled medical care and wound/skin management is provided. The Kearny Center offers 90 long-term care beds and 30 assisted living units. This assisted living residence was one of the first of its kind in northern New Jersey, and provides residents with the services of healthcare professionals and assistance with daily functions from personal care attendees. [ top ] The Progressive Imaging Center is a freestanding outpatient diagnostic facility located on the campus of Clara Maass, offering the most sophisticated imaging technology available. The procedures include MRI, CT Scan, bone densitometry, stereotactic breast biopsy, Voxel Q Workstation, diagnostic x-ray, fluoroscopy, mammography and ultrasound. [top] Wound care addresses the care of the non-healing wounds, many of which can be attributed to diabetes and vascular disease. At The Wound Center at Clara Maass, an established Wound Care facility, a dedicated team of endocrinologists, podiatrists, vascular surgeons and general surgeons work to uncover the origin of the non-healing wound. Therapies include hyperbaric oxygen therapy. [top] The Women's Health Center at Clara Maass, housed within the Health and Wellness Center, provides specialized services geared towards women¡¯s wellness and illnesses. Some of the services include a dedicated breast service, osteoporosis service, perinatal program, gynecology, genetic counseling, diagnostic imaging and incontinence service. Advanced practice nurses, registered nurses, physical therapists, a clinical dietician, social worker and home-care personnel work with physicians to plan, evaluate, and address the individual needs of women using the Center. [top] Clara Maass houses an adult cardiac catheterization facility, which allows cardiologists to coordinate all aspects of testing to help determine if a patient requires medical management or cardiovascular surgery referral for heart disease. Tests include routine EKGs, 24-hour holter monitoring, vascular studies, 2D Echo with Doppler & Color Flow, stress echocardiograms, nuclear stress testing and transesophageal echocariography. The Orthopedic Spine & Joint Institute at Clara Maass is housed on a dedicated nursing unit within Clara Maass. A rehabilitation gym located on the unit begins patients on the road to recovery quickly following surgery. The Pain Management Center utilizes a multidisciplinary approach in establishing a protocol for patients that includes medical, psychological, physical, and pharmacological treatments. A typical program designed by the pain specialists may include biofeedback, medication, physical or occupational therapy, and if needed, procedures such as spinal drug delivery systems, spinal cord stimulation, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), acupuncture and bioelectric treatment. [top] Sleep Disorders (The Center for) 973-450-2444 The Center for Sleep Disorders can help improve the lives of those suffering from any number of conditions, such as insomnia, sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless legs syndrome and other disorders. At the new Center, four types of non-invasive studies are conducted and comprehensive evaluations are performed by sleep specialists. Patients may participate in an overnight sleep study and/or a series of nap studies during the daytime. The studies include nocturnal polysomnogram, nasal CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) titration, multiple sleep latency and a split night study, which utilize sophisticated diagnostic equipment to monitor brain, heart, respiratory and muscle activity during sleep.
