Community Medical Center Orthopedic Surgeons Chosen as Official Team Physicians for Ocean Monmouth All Shore Football Classic
TOMS RIVER, N.J., July 1, 2008 – On July 18, 2008, the most talented football athletes from Ocean County will take the field at Brick High School for the annual Ocean Monmouth All Shore Football Classic. In addition to the players and coaches, two renowned orthopedic surgeons from Community Medical Center will also be standing on the field too – ready to assist should an injury occur.
Daniel Fox, MD, Chairman of Orthopedics at Community Medical Center; and Karl Blum, MD, Associate Chairman of Orthopedics at Community Medical Center, have been named official team physicians for this year’s Ocean Monmouth All Shore Football Classic. Their role is to provide the best medical care for athletes who have been selected to be on the team.
Mark D. Pilla, Executive Vice President of Operations for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System and Executive Director of Community Medical Center, said, “Dr. Fox and Dr. Blum are dedicated and skilled physicians who volunteer their time to these exceptional football players. They were chosen as official team physicians due to their excellence in practice and commitment to the health and performance of varsity athletes.”
Both Drs. Fox and Blum deliver innovative orthopedic treatment designed for modern day athletes. They believe their personalized approach, and focus on communication, cooperation and understanding between the doctors and the players are critical to the success of their sports medicine program.
Dr. Fox treats patients at his facility, The Center for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Toms River, and Dr. Blum treats patients at Ocean Orthopedics, also in Toms River.
