Community Medical Center has a 3 Tesla short bore Philips magnet that produces twice the signal than the typical magnet on the market. What this means to the patient or physician ordering the scan on the 3 Tesla magnet is greater detail of the orthopedic joint of interest. With this greater signal and detail, smaller ligaments and tendons tears can be more accurately diagnosed that would not be visualized on the weaker 1.5 Tesla magnet system.
