 The 'First Moments' Maternity Unit at Community Medical Center specializes in a total concept of care for you and your baby--where advanced technology and training are enhanced by human touch of dedicated health care professionals. Our Labor-Delivery Recovery (LDR) rooms combine the latest technology with a soothing home-like decor--each complete with its own shower. Our facilities also include a Special Care Nursery staffed by a neonatologist and certified neonatal nurses to care for babies with special needs, and a fully-equipped Operating Suite for Cesarean births or high-risk vaginal deliveries.
Before the birth of your baby, we also invite you to take part in a full range of parent preparation and education classes taught by certified childbirth educators. Classes include: childbirth series (Healthy Beginnings, Preparing for Your Newborn and Prepared Childbirth), Exercise for Pregnancy and Post-Delivery, Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC), Breastfeeding Class and Support, Newborn Parenting Survival Skills, Prepared Brothers and Sisters, and Grandparents Class.
