Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratory

Overview

The Department of Pathology and Clinical Laboratory at Community Medical Center (CMC) is a full service laboratory offering testing for diagnostic and prognostic purposes to the physicians and other healthcare provider members of our community. The laboratory at CMC serves a diverse Inpatient population providing routine and STAT testing capabilities, as well as an extensive network of Outpatient services to the general public, physician offices, nursing homes and extended care facilities. The laboratory’s services are available 24 hours/ day, 7 days/ week, 52 weeks/ year.

Inpatient services are provided for all critical care, Medical/ Surgical, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatric, Same Day Surgery and scheduled/ emergent surgical procedures. Outpatient services are provided to Community Medical Center's Employee Health Service, all Community Medical Center-supported Outpatient services (ex. Family Health Center, The Lighthouse, etc.), the general public for Outpatient Phlebotomy needs, private Physician Offices, Saint Barnabas Health Care System-affiliated Skilled Nursing and Extended Care Facilities, non-Saint Barnabas Health Care System Nursing homes, Saint Barnabas Health Care System Behavioral Health, Healthsouth, and other Saint Barnabas Health Care System acute care facilities.
