Frequently Asked Questions WHAT IS A NEUROLOGIST? Once your examination is complete, the results will be studied and interpreted by one of our neurologists. The neurologist studies and reads the test waveforms and sends a written report to the referring doctor. Your doctor will receive the neurologist’s report to inform you of the results. To avoid confusion, the neurologist will not discuss the results with the patient. WHAT IS AN ELECTRONEURODIAGNOSTIC TECHNOLOGIST? IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE NEUROPHYSOLOGY DEPARTMENT? The Neurophysiology Department has doctors in the department daily. The doctors specialize in Neurology. All Electroneurodiagnostic testing is interpreted by a neurologist. The results of your procedure is then dictated, typed and sent to your doctor. ARE INTERPRETERS AVAILABLE FOR PATIENTS WHO SPEAK A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE OR MAY BE HEARING IMPAIRED? Community Medical Center utilizes the services of a “language line” which is available 24 hours a day offering interpretative services for all languages. We also have foreign language directory of Community Medical Center employees who can offer translation services. For the hearing impaired, we use special equipment called “deaf talk” which enables the healthcare provider to inform the patient about the procedures they will be having. WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE WHEN CALLING FOR AN APPOINTMENT? Please be prepared with the following information when calling to make an appointment: your full name, date of birth, social security number, address, phone number, type of procedure, and doctor who ordered exam, reason for the exam, your insurance carrier, your policy number and authorization number (if available). WHY DO I HAVE TO PROVIDE THE SAME INFORMATION EACH TIME I CALL IF I AM IN THE “SYSTEM”? Our repeated request for information ensures proper payment from your insurance carrier. [ top ] |
