 The Breast Care Program at J. Phillip Citta Regional Cancer Center was developed over six years ago to help meet the special needs of women undergoing breast cancer surgery. Each year over 200 women are seen by the nurse consultant to address their educational, emotional, and practical needs both pre-operatively, as well as postoperatively.
The nurse consultant works collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, case management and support services to individualize each patient’s care, and ease them through this difficult time in their lives. The resource library provides information and referral sources for women and their families. In addition, the program organizes community outreach programs throughout Ocean County, providing education to over 4,000 women each year. For more information, please
