American Red Cross Names January National Blood
Donor Month
, – Kimball Medical Center, in conjunction
with the American Red Cross, will hold a blood drive on Tuesday,
January 15 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Typically January is a difficult month to collect blood donations
due to holidays, busy travel schedules, inclement weather and illness.
The American Red Cross has therefore recognized January as National
Blood Donor Month. During this annual, month-long observance,
the American Red Cross encourages healthy individuals to donate
blood during that month and to pledge to donate blood at least one
more time during 2008.
Kimball Medical Center reminds everyone that each pint of donated
blood may save three lives. To schedule an appointment at Kimball
for the Blood Drive, call 732-363-1900, ext. 22065. To learn more
about donor eligibility or health, call the American Red Cross at
1-800-GIVE-LIFE.
