, August 3, 2007 -- Kenneth D. Glazier, M.D., a gastroenterologist
who specializes in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease,
has joined the medical staff of Kimball Medical Center.
Dr. Glazier, who completed fellowship training at Columbia University
College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, and Robert Johnson
University Medical School, New Brunswick, joins gastroenterologists
Allen Cohen, M.D., Omar Tamimi, M.D., Jill Collier, M.D., and Edgar
Bigornia, M.D., of Gastroenterologists of Ocean County PA, in Toms
River.
He received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical
School, Chicago. A member of the American Gastroenterology Association,
Dr. Glazier's professional affiliations also include the American
College of Gastroenterology and the Chron’s and Colitis Foundation
of America.
Dr. Glazier has extensive experience in the treatment of inflammatory
bowel disease at the Crohn's and Colitis Center of New Jersey and
published a manuscript on the use of the immunnosuppressant drug
6MP to treat the disorders. His other areas of interest include
hepatitis C and advanced diagnosed procedures including endoscopic
retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) — which enables
the physician to diagnose problems in the liver, gallbladder, bile
ducts and pancreas — and colonoscopy.
Before joining Gastroenterologists of Ocean County, Dr. Glazier
was in private practice in the Marlboro/Freehold area for five years.
He currently is a clinical assistant professor of medicine with
UMDNJ/Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. A resident of Morganville,
Dr. Glazier and his wife, pediatrician Kim Glazier, M.D., are the
parents of two young children.
