, September 27, 2007 -- Irene Spinelli, R.N.C.,
B.S.N., WCC, RAC-CT, has been named manager of community outreach
for Kimball Medical Center, responsible for overseeing the wide
array of community health programs and services offered through
the hospital’s Center for Healthy Living.
Prior
to taking on this role with the Center for Healthy Living at Kimball,
Spinelli — who joined the Center earlier this year as
a diabetes educator — was the LTC coordinator of the Transitional
Care Unit at Community Medical Center in Toms River, and she also
had a tenure as director of education and MDS (Minimum Data Set)
coordinator for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System long-term
care facilities in Toms River. Her nursing experience also includes
roles as a wound care educator and staff nurse at Kimball.
She earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing
from Bloomfield College and is a nursing graduate of Ocean County
College, Toms River. She currently is pursuing a a master’s
degree in nursing administration from Kean University, Union, and
she holds a host of specialty nursing certifications, including
infection control, wound care and breast self exam. Additionally,
she is certified as a fitness trainer from the International Sports
Sciences Association.
