Located within the hospital, the Center for Hospice Care at Monmouth
Medical Center exists in the hope that through the efforts of a
caring community, patients and families may attain physical, mental
and spiritual peace. We work as partners with patients, their families
and physicians in this special kind of caring - and sharing in the
belief that caring and closeness are equally important in all stages
of life.
Our goal is to provide patients with the highest-possible level
of support to relieve or decrease pain, or other symptoms, and provide
as much quality time as possible with family and friends.
Each of the unit's patient rooms offers homelike surroundings,
providing patients and families with a quiet, comfortable setting
to spend time together, yet knowing that direct medical care is
available anytime it may be needed. Home-based hospice services
also are available through the program. Family members are permitted
to stay around the clock if they so desire, and family areas away
from the patient's room are also provided.
