The Medical Center's program is one of the largest open heart surgery programs in the country and continues to be on the leading edge of cardiac surgery, with a well-deserved reputation for treating difficult and complex cases. In addition to open heart (coronary bypass) surgery, our surgeons perform anti-arrhythmic mapping and surgery, cryoablation, laser ablation, pacemaker implantation, intrathoracic and transvenous internal cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) implantation, and other cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
