Who We Are
Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (NBIMC) is a 671-bed regional, acute care, teaching hospital affiliated with the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Founded in 1901, “The Beth,” as it is fondly known, is located in the south ward of the city of Newark, New Jersey’s largest city. NBIMC is an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, the state’s largest and most diversified health care system. Home of the Saint Barnabas Heart Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of New Jersey, NBIMC provides comprehensive health-care services to members of its local communities and beyond. It is a major referral and treatment center for patients throughout the northern New Jersey metropolitan area and is the only Medicare-certified medical center in the state performing heart transplants. The Beth is one of just 80 U.S. hospitals providing a full spectrum of adult and pediatric cardiac care.
