Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The Adult Day Health Care Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center offers a structured therapeutic environment on a daily basis for older adults in the community, providing stability and an improved quality of life. The Center, which is wheelchair accessible, is located in a spacious, comfortable setting, where clients can enjoy a healthy, stimulating environment. Transportation is provided.

The clients seen at the Center are people with chronic medical conditions, the frail elderly, people with dementias, and those who are unable to be left home alone for various reasons. In addition, clients will receive regular nursing assessments, social services and other specialty care as needed.

To be eligible for the program a person must be:

• 60 years of age or over
  
• Be experiencing medical illness, cognitive difficulties, and/or emotional problems
  
• Receive a medical assessment and physician’s order prior to admission to the program
