Wayne, NJ -- Caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease may present challenges. The ability to make sense of difficult behaviors can make your job as a caregiver easier and may improve quality of life — for everyone involved.
On Wednesday, November 12, from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m., Llanfair House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Wayne, an affiliate of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, will host Communication: The Key to Understanding Behaviors. The presentation is being held in honor of National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month in November. Dessert will be served.
The program, which will be led by the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, will educate caregivers regarding how to avoid unnecessary arguments; recognize the triggers which may result in aggressive or risky behavior; and how to employ communication techniques to effectively respond to repetitive actions, recognition difficulties, and anxious or agitated feelings.
For more information or to register to attend, please call 973-835-7443 by Wednesday, November 5.
Llanfair House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is located at 1140 Black Oak Ridge Road in Wayne.
