Meet Our Perinatologists. . .

Leon G. Smith, Jr., M.D.Leon G. Smith, Jr., M.D.

Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Dr. Smith graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the Tulane University Affiliated Hospitals in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1991. He was then appointed Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Smith’s research interests include obstetrical infections and prenatal diagnosis.

Richard Miller, M.D.Richard Miller, M.D.

Associate Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Dr. Miller graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. He completed his fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991. Before joining the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center he spent four years as Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center and was a member of the faculty at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Miller’s research interests include outcome-based analysis of prenatal care and prenatal diagnosis.

Dom Terrone, M.D.Dom Terrone, M.D.

Associate Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Dr. Terrone graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Before joining the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at Saint Barnabas Medical Center, he completed his fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine and his master’s degree of science at the University of Mississippi, Jackson. Dr. Terrone's research interests include fetal therapy and preterm birth.

Wendy Warren, M.D.Wendy Warren, M.D.

Associate Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Dr. Warren graduated from Cornell University Medical College and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. She came to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York for her fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine where she stayed on the faculty until 1996. Dr. Warren spent three years as Director of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Paterson, NJ before joining the division at Saint Barnabas. Dr. Warren’s research interests include fetal-placental endocrine function and mechanisms of labor initiation.

Edward Wolf, M.D.Edward Wolf, M.D.

Associate Director, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine

Dr. Wolf graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine prior to completing his residency at the National Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. He completed his fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Connecticut. He then served as the Associate Director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD and Assistant Residency Director at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Wolf’s research interests include multiple gestations and preterm birth.
