Pediatric Critical Care Unit (973) 322-8803 The Pediatric Critical Care Unit provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art medical and surgical care. The unit is staffed by full-time pediatric intensivists and pediatric critical care nurses, each certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support. Pediatric specialists, in various medical and surgical specialties, are available for immediate consultation. The PCCU staff is especially sensitive to the needs of both children and parents. Accommodations are made for one parent to remain with the child overnight. The PCCU offers 24-hour a day critical care transport services. All transports are staffed by an attending intensivist, a pediatric critical care nurse and a certified respiratory therapist. Transport is provided via a fully equipped ambulance, customized specifically for the neonatal and pediatric population.
