Saint Barnabas Medical Center Physicians Establish
Special Speakers’ Bureau to Address Health Care Crisis
in New Jersey

Livingston, N.J., August, 2003– The Saint Barnabas-Metrowest Independent Physicians’ Association (IPA) has established a Health Care Speakers’ Bureau that provides speakers, free of charge, to local organizations to discuss the current health care crisis in New Jersey. Civic or volunteer organizations, student groups, parent organizations, religious groups, professional associations, and other groups may contact the IPA to arrange for a speaker. Usually, two speakers will be assigned to each engagement, and will provide a talk followed by a question and answer session.

“The health care crisis in New Jersey is far from resolved,” explains N. Peter Zauber, M.D., Chairman of the IPA Speakers’ Bureau as well as Section Chief of Hematology at Saint Barnabas. “Our IPA Board devised the Speakers’ Bureau to improve communication between the medical community and our community at large. We believe people have a lot of questions. They may be reading articles in the paper or see a clip on the news and wonder why New Jersey physicians are marching on Trenton. We would like to share a discourse with them and hopefully educate them about this complex and important issue.”

Groups and organizations interested in arranging to have a speaker from the Saint Barnabas-Metrowest IPA are encouraged to contact Cherry Holmes at (973) 322-5661 or Cholmes@sbhcs.com. Please indicate the day and time of the event, the name of the organization, the number of people anticipated at the meeting, as well as a contact person for the speaking engagement.
