to
older adults throughout the state. Physicians,
nurses, therapists and other health care professionals, experienced
in treating the conditions and disorders associated with aging, work
with patients in a variety of clinical settings. The focus of Senior
Health is helping seniors maintain their independence
and functionality.
Through Saint Barnabas Senior Health, seniors can access geriatric
assessment by specialists; adult
day care, and home care, for patients who require care in their
own surroundings. Eight
nursing and rehabilitation centers, one
assisted living facility, two geriatric centers and hospice
care are available for those with long-term care needs.
A critical component of Senior Health is wellness and education.
A free senior membership program gives
adults over age 50 opportunities to participate
in programs that focus on staying healthy. Health
lectures and screenings, insurance counseling,
social events, newsletters and discounts are all
part of the program. The Senior Health membership program is available
through six hospitals in the Saint Barnabas Health Care System.
