Our full-service, non-invasive laboratories provide echocardiography, stress, and cardiopulmonary function testing as well as ambulatory 24-hour electrocardiogram monitoring (Holter) services. Patients benefit from the most advanced echocardiography modalities, including transesophageal echocardiography, stress echocardiography with bicycle, treadmill exercise or pharmacological agents, and color Doppler echocardiography.
The benefits of fully-digital echocardiography include superior quality of cardiac ultrasound images which translate into greater diagnostic accuracy, easy and universal accessibility, and better communication between primary and specialist physicians.
The full spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac procedures is performed at our invasive cardiovascular laboratories. These procedures include cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting, atherectomy, biopsies, electrophysiology studies, arrhythmia ablations, as well as defibrillator and pacemaker insertions and extractions including biventricular pacemakers. One of the fifteen suites is dedicated to pediatric catheterization procedures.
The Invasive Laboratories and the state-of-the-art Pacemaker and Defibrillator Evaluation Center at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center are the largest such facilities in the State of New Jersey. State-of-the-art multi-disciplinary interventional suites in the Catheterization Labs at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Saint Barnabas Medical Center offer sophisticated invasive treatments including:
- Carotid artery stenting
- Endovascular stenting of thoracic, abdominal and peripheral aneurysms
- Minimally invasive management of PAD
