Vaginal prolapse occurs when the top portion of the vagina
falls toward or protrudes through the vaginal opening. Often,
this condition is a complication of a previous hysterectomy,
as the uterus provides support for the top portion of the vagina.
Corrective surgery, using the da Vinci® S Surgical System,
attaches the top of the vagina to the lower abdominal wall,
the lower back spine or the ligaments of the pelvis.
